When you open your eyes underwater
When you wake with a start from a dream
When you turn and you think someone’s called out your name
You’ve experienced things that are not what they seem

When you’re lonely for someone you can’t put a name to
When you’re sad and alone in a party or crowd
When all you have left is well nothing I guess
You’ve experienced a silence maddeningly loud

Try to recall that it’s only a feeling
Try to recall you’re not really that strange
Try to recall it’s not always about you
Experience teaches that feelings will change
