The fortress in the background is the definitive scene of Tbilisi. That looks like Matechi Church with the spire. Sadly, the grand building, walls and the buildings below no longer exist. This would have been a very fine place to shop, work and visit. There are a few remains of the ancient city walls right about where this picture was taken from.
